Iron(III) Ion with Sodium Iodide
Here, sodium iodide (NaI) is added to iron(III) ion (Fe3+). The result is a redox reaction where Fe3+ oxidizes I- to I2 resulting in a red color in the solution.
2Fe3+(aq) + 2I-(aq) --> I2(aq) + 2Fe2+(aq) .
