HELP!

The following are explanations for the various buttons and links found throughout the Window on the Solid State pages:

Begining of Chapter "Beginning of Chapter": This button allows the user to return to the first page of the chapter he/she is currently using. If the user is already on the first page of the chapter, this button will take him/her to the first page of the chapter previous to the one he/she is currently using. Clicking this button on the first page of the first chapter will merely take the user to the Table of Contents page.

Previous Page "Previous Page": This button takes the user directly to the page previous to the page he/she is currently using, following the order of the index (see Table of Contents page). From the first page of a chapter, this button will take users to the last page of the previous chapter.

Next Page "Next Page": This is the forward button. It will take users to the page after the one they are currently using, again, following the order of the chapters. From the last page of a chapter, it will take users to the first page of the following chapter.

Next Chapter "Next Chapter": This button takes the user to first page of the chapter following the one he/she is currently using, no matter what page he/she uses it from. Using this button in the last chapter merely returns the user to the Table of Contents page.

Table of Contents "Table of Contents": This is a permanent link to the Table of Contents page. From the Table of Contents page, users have access to almost all pages in both Metal Structures and Unit Cells of Metals.

Blue Text: Blue, underlined text indicates a link. This link may be activated by mousing over the text, or users may have to click the link. Links can have a variety of activities associated with them; they can define words, display pictures, or take the user to a different page.

Buttons accomplish the same thing as the blue text explained above. By clicking on a button, users can play animations, travel to different pages, or display the answer to a question.
