JCE Software Chemistry Comes Alive!
Help for Searching

Here are some suggestions for using the Search capability.

  • This search looks for your search argument(s) in titles, summaries and keywords that have been assigned to each Chemistry Comes Alive! module. It is not a full text search.
  • This is a string search, not a word search. For example, searching for "pla" will yield the all the results that would be returned for "plate", "place", "splash", etc.
  • One occurrence of "and" or "or" is acceptable in your search text. For example, you can search for "hot and plate" or for "hot or plate".
  • Case is ignored. Searching for "Hot", "HOT", and "hot" will all yield the same results.
  • Search results are brought up in a separate window. This allows you to look quickly through the pages identified by the search. Be aware that this separate window might get hidden depending on how your display and browser are set up. It might be necessary to close the search window before beginning a second search. Some older browsers may return an error if you fail to do so.
  • In the results window, the first column contains titles of relevant pages (and links). The second column indicates the context of the page. This may help you distinguish between pages with similar titles.
  • Any request to search for the phrase "search text", for a single character, or for an empty search argument will be ignored.
