One-Point Calibration

Video. Calibrating the meter to pH=7.00.

Typically, a one-point calibration is made by placing the electrode in pH=7.00 buffer and adjusting the meter to read 7.00. The procedure below outlines a one-point calibration.

One-Point Calibration Procedure

  1. Rinse the electrode with distilled water.
  2. Place the electrode in a pH = 7.00 buffer solution.
  3. Wait a moment for the meter to stabilize, then adjust the meter until it reads a pH of 7.00.
  4. Remove the electrode from the solution and rinse it with distilled water.
  5. Re-place the electrode in the pH = 7.00 buffer solution. If the reading does not return 7.00, then recalibrate the meter.

Video. Self Check video.

check Is the meter in the video calibrated? Answer

No, the meter should be recalibrated. The potentiometer should be adjusted until the display shows pH=7.00 when placed in the pH=7.00 buffer.
