Using and Storing a Solution Prepared in a Volumetric Flask

Video. Transferring a solution from volumetric flask to a storage bottle.

NEVER pipet directly from a volumetric flask.

Pipetting from a volumetric flask is not a safe laboratory practice. Volumetric flasks are likely to tip and break when a pipet is inserted into the neck of the flask. Instead, transfer the solution to a clean, dry storage container (a beaker, Erlenmeyer flask, or plastic storage bottle) for further use.

NEVER store solutions in a volumetric flask.
