A Body-Centered Cubic Model

This model of a body-centered cubic unit cell is constructed of Plexiglas plates with holes to hold spheres that represent atoms. Spheres are located at the corners of a cube and there is one sphere in the center of the cube.

It is important to remember that the model is not exactly correct. The spheres (atoms) along the diagonal of the unit cell touch in a metal with a body-centered cubic structure.
