Like many of our readers I am a charter member of the American Association of Chemistry Teachers (AACT). I joined AACT because I believe the organization has the power to make positive transformations within science education. AACT is providing the organizational platform for passionate and informed educators to come together to share ideas, engage in professional development, and influence science education reform. In this inaugural year of the association we will be electing three ambassadors to the governing board. These positions will go to three classroom teachers. There will be an elementary, middle, and high school position. Candidates have submitted their bios and short statements explaining why they want to serve. Polls are open now and AACT members can vote online. Polls will close on June 5 so members should vote NOW. Ambassadors will be announced in mid-June.
