Applying Modeling Instruction to High School Chemistry To Improve Students’ Conceptual Understanding

Larry Dukerich has been using Modeling Instruction for many years. He is a founding member of the AMTA. He has blogged about the pedagogy at ChemEd X and I am happy to announce that his recent contribution to the Journal of Chemical Education discussing Modeling Instruction and how it helps to develop students' conceptual understanding  has just been published online. Modeling Instruction is more than the name implies, it is much more than a mode of helping students to build and use models. This is a robust pedagogical approach to instruction. I encourage chemistry teachers, K-12 science teachers, administrators and anyone interested in improving science education to read this article.

Kudos to Larry on the publication of his manuscript!
