A paper square rubbed with graphite on one side is placed at the interface between two immiscible liquids (carbon tetrachloride and water).
A square piece of an index card with graphite (from a pencil lead) applied to one side is immersed in a beaker containing carbon tetrachloride and water near the interface of the two layers. The graphite-coated side always faces the carbon tetrachloride layer.
Discussion:
In this version of the movie the liquids are NOT labeled. By removing the sound track, or muting the sound the movie can be used for testing and discussion purposes.
